Welcome to the official website of Tri-Township EMS. The principle office of Tri-Township EMS is located in Atlanta, MI. The municipal ambulance service provides primary 911 emergency response to five townships in Montmorency County, located in rural Northern Michigan. Tri-Township EMS has over forty employees and twelve transporting ambulances to handle both 911 emergency response and Inter-facility Transfers. Our goal is to provide the most advanced, quality, compassionate, yet affordable patient care possible. Because of this goal, Tri-Township EMS can proudly say we are now CAAS accredited. Now not only can we say we provide the best service, we can prove it. If you would like to learn more about CAAS, you can check them out at www.caas.org
Over the course of the past decade, Tri-Township has evolved from a small community ambulance service composed of mainly volunteers, to one of the larger more equipped, higher trained, and more relied upon EMS providers in Northern Michigan. We take pride in providing Critical Care Transport, (CCT) by employing Critical Care Paramedics which allows us to deliver the highest level of ground care reconginzed in the Emergency Medical Services system. Critical Care Education and Training is obtained through the University of Maryland Baltimore College (UMBC) accredited program. Critical Care Transportation is extremely important in the rural setting, as many of the hospitals we provide this service to are more than 100 miles away from the nearest Cardiac Cath Lab, and more than 200 miles away from the nearest trauma / burn center. This level of care provided is similar to that of Helicopter or Air Ambulance Transportation, and is often utilized during busy periods or when weather conditions do not allow for air transportation.
Tri-Township offers Critical Care Transport region wide, and also staffs a dedicated Critical Care Ambulance at nearby Alpena Regional Medical Center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing for expeditious transport of patients' who may require transfer to another health care facility. Alpena Regional Medical Center is the largest hospital in Northeast Michigan and serves as a federally designated rural regional referral center for patients in Northern Michigan.
